Unique Sicilian variety
Sarah Chickpeas are a unique variety grown only in Sicily, entirely developed by the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Food and Forestry of the University of Palermo with the support of the A. and S. Lima Mancuso Foundation. Amío supports the University for agricultural promotion, training and research.
Sarah Chickpeas are an excellent source of fibre and protein*. This variety is grown only in Sicily. It is a nutritious and tasty ingredient, suitable for every season.
*RI% = reference intake for an average adult (8400 kj/ 2000 kcal). Reference intakes suggest the total amount of energy and nutrients that a healthy adult should consume on a daily basis.
We recommend soaking these chickpeas for 12 hours. Then rinse them and cook them in a pot with 500ml of water for every 100g of product for 45 minutes. Sarah Chickpeas have high cooking stability, richness of flavour and are ideal for salads and soups.
