Starting in Venice, we are spreading our passion throughout Europe for high-quality raw materials from selected producers. To do this, we have travelled all over the world, from America to Europe, in search of the areas where chickpeas, lentils, beans and peas grow best. We believe it is important to let you know where our products come from, because the climate and soil in which they grow define their unique character. Italy, a country that is accustomed to transforming every ingredient into a culinary experience, is the starting point of this change. This is where we want to start developing a new food culture that reflects the wonderful richness of the pulses on our tables and in our lives.
International Year of Pulses
The FAO declared 2016 the International Year of Pulses.
In fact, although we have been eating them for five thousand years, their time to shine has come now.
We live in a world in which there are always more things to unite us than divide us.
From our point of view, pulses perfectly represent this change.
Affordable and precious, they offer a delicious way to satisfy our hunger, and many people believe that they will be the food of the future.

AMÍO was founded by ILTA Alimentare SpA, a subsidiary of ILTA Commodities SA. The group, which has been selecting and selling pulses and cereals globally for more than forty years, is present in the most important production areas in the world. Over the years, ILTA Commodities SA has developed trusted relationships with producers and today it is able to ensure scrupulous quality controls and an extensive distribution network.
ILTA Alimentare SpA was founded in 2015 in response to the growing market demand for a varied, transparent and comprehensive range of high-quality products. These values have always guided the group and are upheld and transmitted throughout Europe by AMÍO.
